The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Debrecen is one of the leading institutions in Hungary in the field of patient care and education. In line with the challenges of the 21st century, we are developing our clinic so that the achievements of transparent medical work and the latest evidence-based medicine are widely applied. We have established three large patient care units in our clinic: the Perinatology, the Gynecology and the Oncology Unit. The leaders of these three departments are recognized nationally and internationally as great specialists in their field. With our doctors we represent all fields and subdivisions of obstetrics and gynecology.

Our primary goals include improving patient safety and rationalizing patient pathways. We are introducing a number of changes that will soon be felt in our clinic for the proper care and comfort of our patients. At several points, we implemented a system for measuring patient satisfaction, the results of which are taken into account and incorporated into our daily work. Our goal is to provide every patient who comes to us with the same high standard of care and we will do our best to achieve this. In this way, we constantly monitor our work, refine our supply policy and provide regular training for our employees.

High quality patient care is also a guarantee of good quality education. As a university clinic, we also play an important role in the training of undergraduate, postgraduate and specialist physicians. We believe that innovations in patient care can bring forth a significant improvement in the quality of our education.

In our scientific work, we consider it our duty to attract as many of our staff as possible to the scientific degree, which is supported by the newly established clinical structure. We intend to strengthen our successful research efforts not only in basic research but also in the field of scientific results incorporated into everyday practice.

Our new website is updated regularly. The list of our staff at the clinic, their position, the type of our specialty orders, the appointment times and the patient registration options provide up-to-date information.

Dr. Lampé Rudolf
Acting Director of the Clinic
